BE LOVE APPAREL
WOMEN & CHILDREN
The Be Love apparel brand is currently partnered with an extraordinary residence
for women and their children here in Los Angeles called Alexandria House. Be
Love Co-Founders Kyle and KamGi say, “We are raising funds to help support an
amazing childcare and after-school program that makes a huge difference in the
lives of families who have courageously escaped domestic abuse, sex trafficking,
Be Love is currently building an organic urban community garden at Alexandria
House as well as bringing yoga and music classes to the children in the program.
This initial service project began in January 2013. Their goal is to raise $25,000.
To do this, they are donating 20% of the profit on all shirts sold through their
website, which equals $5 on each product sold.

To close out National Yoga Month, more than
250 people gathered on the expansive oceanview
lawn of Terranea Oceanfront Resort to practice
yoga in a class taught by the resort’s experienced
instructors. After class, participants shopped at
a lululemon trunk show, took home gift bags,
sipped on Om Cocktails, and toured the resort’s
bungalows and well-appointed spa.
On September 28, the Iyengar Yoga Institute of
LA honored Marla Apt with the Manouso
Manos Leadership Award for outstanding
leadership in spreading the teachings of BKS
Iyengar. The award is bestowed upon Iyengar
Yoga teachers whose teachings have served and
have had exemplary impact on the Iyengar yoga
community in Southern California. Apt teaches
classes and offers workshops and retreats locally
and internationally, leads teacher training in
California, is a founding director of Iyengar
Yoga Therapeutics, has taken part in medical
research studies, and writes for several yoga
publications. The award was presented to Apt
by Manos at the LA Institute's 2013 fundraising
