YOGA VIBE AT THE VILLAGE
1306 Sonora Avenue, Glendale,.
Bluewater Pilates has created quite a wave in my Instagram feed: pink
sandy beaches, positive affirmations and blissed-out yogis in beautiful postures. Located in the South Bay directly across from the El
Segundo Plaza, this cozy studio with limited class sizes boasts a selection that includes Reformer classes, mat Pilates, Jumpboard classes,
Latin-dance inspired Zumba, Yoga for Surfers, and booty blast.
Immaculate wood floors and beach-inspired touches create a soothing sense of ease and remind you that you are mere blocks from the
ocean. One-on-one classes are available beginning at 6 am, and bringing a friend guarantees a ten percent discount.
At Bluewater Pilates, I was greeted with huge smiles and contagious
enthusiasm, and teachers Libby Jansen and Chloe Moore ushered me
in to the immaculate studio where woven baskets filled with weights
and Pilates bands were available. Along with four other women, I took
“booty blast,” a vinyasa-inspired class with an emphasis on the assets.
Through the blasting and burning, Chloe kept us bumping to the beat
with enthusiasm. “Sometimes we take our practice too seriously,”
Chloe said over a throwback 90s tune. “The world is so serious, give
yourself a break and enjoy this hour!” I do take my practice so seriously
– worrying about missing a day or not staying in a pose “long enough.”
The next thing I knew, I was in savasana. I left with a Bluewater buzz
and the promise to return the following Monday for Ab Lab.

Since January 2012, Yoga Vibe has been contributing to the happiness
of Los Feliz, as the neighborhood's go-to studio for vinyasa flow yoga.
Owners Larry and Amy Santiago are thrilled to announce that Yoga at
the Village in Glendale is now a part of the Yoga Vibe tribe.
Their vision for Yoga Vibe at the Village includes the continued celebration of the therapeutic yoga community cultivated by original studio owner, Elyse Briggs, while offering their signature vinyasa flow
vibe. Larry and Amy believe in creating a space where yoga is fun,
everyone is welcome, and the teachers and staff know your name.
The practice room is inviting, with a beautifully mounted rope wall
on one side, and antique windows on the other. It’s like practicing
in the comfort of your own home with the benefit of compassionate,
The diverse class schedule includes Candlelight Flow, Iyengar (rope
wall!), Mixed Level Flow, Therapeutics, Yin, and Yoga Tune Up.
Purchasing a class series gives you access to both locations, so kick off
your shoes, roll out a mat, and make yourself at home.
