“Yoga is the perfect supplement to CrossFit,” says DerSarkissian.
“Yoga plays an integral part in the preventative steps we try to
implement here (in CrossFit) in order to ensure that our athletes
stay safe and healthy.”
CrossFit involves constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity. The fitness regimen typically focuses

Hollywood is known for luxury apartments, high-profile fashion, distinctive dining, world-class entertainment, and a lively
nightlife. Thanks to the new Yoga Works Hollywood studio, superb yoga instruction is now added to that list. On November
19, Yoga Works opened its thirteenth Los Angeles area studio at
the iconic location of Sunset and Vine. The 5,300 square foot
space is a modern-day oasis with high ceilings, two large studios, showers with free towel service, and complimentary hot
tea to enjoy before or after practice. The eco-friendly studio is
equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting, FSC certified bamboo flooring, and low VOC paint.
Yogis already familiar with YogaWorks will recognize their
signature YogaWorks Level 1-3 classes taught by popular LA
instructors who hold no less than a 500-hour Yoga Alliance
registration. Also offered are Iyengar Yoga classes with teachers
trained at the BKS Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles. Additionally, the 90 class per week schedule incorporates “mindful
fitness classes” such as Bar Works, ScultpWorks, TRX, Pilates,
and Cardio Flow. These classes focus on body toning and conditioning to complement and strengthen your yoga practice. Expect to see restorative yoga added to the schedule in early 2014.
Practicing traditional yoga along with mindful fitness classes
creates the balanced fitness regimen and sound mind that Hollywood residents desire.
