WEIGHT TRAINING YOGA
IN WEST LOS ANGELES
Ocean Mist Yoga co-owners Monica Estrada and Tony Wilson decided to open a studio to welcome all levels of yogis and
give people the opportunity to practice Yoga, says Estrada.
Ocean Mist Yoga offers a wide selection of classes from Hatha and Vinyasa to more challenging practices such as Heavy
Hands, Cross Fit Yoga and Extreme Strength Flow, which incorporate weights for a more vigorous complete body workout. “We are unique in our weight training fused with Yoga
(integrating) strength and flexibility in one,” Estrada says.
Ocean Mist Yoga gets its name honoring the beauty and power of the ocean. “Sitting on the sand enjoying the peace, we
relate it to the power of the Yoga practice with the peaceful
feeling of Savasana,” Estrada says. The new Los Angeles studio hosts group and private Yoga sessions allowing students
to “Tune in, chill out and shape up.”

CorePower Yoga continues to take over Southern California with
their newest location that opened in Torrance mid-November.
“There's a CorePower studio in Huntington Beach and Wilshire, so
I think that Torrance was the perfect place to bridge the gap,” says
Torrance studio manager Vivian Nguyen.
This intimate studio is modeled like the other CorePower locations
with the same central values to create an awareness of Yoga’s benefits with challenging classes accessible to everyone. Following CorePower’s signature climate-controlled environments, the studio offers
heated Yoga classes such as power, sculpt, and Yoga with weights.
For new students, Nguyen recommends taking a C1 level 1 Vinyasa
class, which is practiced at room temperature. “But if you're okay
with the heat, Hot Power Fusion is also a great class for beginners,”
In Torrance, expect the high standards of other CorePower Yoga
studios which typically host a pristine Yoga space complete with
shower amenities.“Torrance is a boutique studio (with) only one
practice room, so it definitely has that quaint and cozy Yoga studio
feel with all the amenities of a day spa,” says Nguyen. “It's personal
and luxurious,” she adds.
